Thanks to Saks and SFLuxe, I was delighted to have total freedom putting together looks to present fall trends at Saks "Want It" fashion show. The way I styled the show was to mix high-end designers with more affordable pieces. I like the edgy elegance of putting together ripped jeans with an exquisitely tailored Prada coat. The Nanette Lapore sequined dress with leggings is so 80's but throw the more classically inspired Chloe coat over and it is right now. I used an Azzedine Alaia top in the look above and exclaimed that "I love Alaia because he doesn't follow trends. He is a trend". Which sums up my belief that while industry uses trends to drive business, people with real style don't follow trends.
